been trying to photograph this 'Dragon Fruit' as Dad called it, for weeks and always seem to miss the opening of the blossom...then a few nights ago i was out watching the sun set in the way back by the back pond and noticed that 2 of the blossoms were starting to open...as i watched i took pics, as it did indeed fully open to this beautiful super large cream and yellow flower blossom..as large as a volley ball! and, as i suspected buy the next morning it had faded and fully closed....there must be some night moth that fertilizes it don't ya think?! extraordinary! i sure hope that i can catch the one to the west of the courtyard that is climbing in the Locust tree and has a small trunk as its base...so far i have missed them all looking in the early am...there are 2 more buds developing thank goodness!...maybe i will watch for it at dusk as well.....hummm??!!!! good thinking!

here are the spent blossoms...
